YVU Chemist Earns Prestigious German Fellowship
Dr. Vasu Govardhana Reddy, a distinguished faculty member from the Department of Chemistry at Yogi Vemana University, has achieved a significant milestone in his academic career. He has been awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Renewed Research Fellowship, a highly competitive honor bestowed by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany.
Dr. Reddy’s application for the fellowship was submitted in May 2024, and he received the official notification of the award on Monday, August 12, 2024. The fellowship will provide him with the opportunity to conduct research at a renowned German institution for three months, starting from May 1, 2025, and ending on July 31, 2025. During his stay, he will receive a monthly stipend of approximately 3000 euros.
Dr. Reddy’s research project, titled “Photoredox-N-Heterocyclic Carbene Co catalysis: A Green Tool for Organic Reactions,” aligns with the foundation’s commitment to fostering innovative and sustainable research. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading research funding organizations, and receiving this fellowship is a testament to Dr. Reddy’s exceptional academic achievements and research potential.
